Summer Fun

Shane and I are full speed in the middle of our Summer. We had Girls Camp a few weeks ago, and I have been meaning to post on that. We had a really great time, except for the heat. Our Stake was in charge of it this year, and I love when they are in charge. They had a beautiful evening, where they focused on the parable of the Ten Virgins. It was a very emotional experience and I truly needed that. We really did have a great time, and good food. But I have to say the best part was taking a shower, when I got home. How come it takes so long to get Campfire smell out of your hair? Here are a few pics from camp. I won't bore you with all of them since I took about 200 pics for the week.

Life has slowed down for me, but Shane is doing Scout Camp this week. I think that he was really dreading camp from when he received his call to be Scout Master. I don't know what his problem is, he loves camping, fishing, hunting, and anything to do with the outdoors. He also loves the scouting program and can tie several mean knots. I think that he was just having issues with being able to control the boys, while they were at camp. I hope that Shane enjoys the time that he spends with the boys. He has a great opportunity to teach these boys the correct ways to live your life.

Fourth of July!!!

This year for the Fourth, Shane spent the day fishing at Strawberry Reservoir, and I had to work. We missed being with family, and missed everything about the Grantsville parade. We did get to go to a BBQ at Krysten and Leo's house, watch the Egan's get in a HUGE waterfight with good friends and neighbors the Miller's, we ended the day with Fireworks at the park. It was a great day!!!! Next year I hope we have an even bigger waterfight!!!! This time I WILL BE PREPARED!!!!

We hope that everyone had a great fourth. We love living in the country that we live in, and get to share in all the freedoms, that this country offers us. We are so grateful for the Service Men that serve our country, throughout the world with our of their hearts, I thank them everyday.
I love this country, and I am so proud to be an American.

Youth Conference Pics!!!

I have needed to post these for over a week, sorry I have been to busy with summer to post them. Hope you all enjoy them.

Crazy, busy summer beginning/ Youth Conference

I have been excited, yet dreading the events for the next month. IT will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOO busy, that I will be excited to start August (do I dare say that, I hate to rush summer along). Our wards Youth Conference started on Thursday. We started Thursday out with a trip to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House followed by Baptisms at the Salt Lake Temple. It made for a long day, but one that turned out to be a very spiritual experience for everyone that attended. I hope the kids realize how wonderful it is to live in Utah, and to be able to travel to two temples in one day. I absolutly loved it, and hope that you all find the time to attend the open house while it is going on. The Oquirrh Temple is very beautiful, and had a very home like feeling. I don't know if I'm partial to feeling that way, because of growing up on the west side of the Salt Lake valley (just not that far south), and being able to see the Oquirrh Mountains from our yard.

Friday was the easiest of the three day youth conference. We had a barbque at the church where we ate burgers and hot dogs. Followed by a fireside on the importance of temples. It was a very nice program and video. I love being able to attend the temple, I love the spirit that I feel while there, and I LOVE doing work for those who never had the opportunity to hear about the Gospel while in this life. I have truly been blessed many times over, for the work I have done in the temple.

Saturday we played an Amazing race game. It was SOOOOOOOOO much fun, and the kids all got into it. They really were the best, and so competitive (their parents should all be so proud of that). The game consisted of several different tasks like shooting hoops, washing the leaders car, doing a mile around the track, and a temple match game. But the ultimate task was to drink a wild concoction of the teams favorite foods and drink. The teams all had to choose from a list of foods from Mac and Cheese, Doritios, Pizza, Candy Bars, Sprite, Milk, OJ, etc.. They had to choose three foods from this list and a drink to mix it up. The stuff was blended together, and each team member had to chug the drink, before the recieving their final clue. Everyones looks were priceless, while chugging. It was a great laugh and made for some great pictures.

I hope that everyone had a great time playing the game. I had a ton of fun watching you guys go for the goal. Thank you Krysten for helping with this game and preparing it. You are amazing and have such a wonderful talent, pulling things like this together. Thanks again to Jill for letting us use your house as a pitstop. Thanks for blending the drinks together, though they were awful, it sure was fun to see the kids surprised looks, when you handed them their blended drinks. Thanks again. I will post pictures soon, my camera battery is being charged.

Happy Birthday Summer!!!! Good Luck in DC!!!

A few weeks ago, Shane and I went to my friends Summer birthday party. It was a pretty big event since she was turning 30. We had a great time with friends, catching up with friends I hadn't seen in years, and with those friends I haven't seen in a while. I met Summer through work, and we became fast friends. Our friendship has strengthened over the years, and she has been there for me in many times of need. She is a great friend, and one that will last for a very very long time.

Summer I miss you tons, but I know that DC is where you need to be. You need Rich just like he needs you. I'm looking forward to our birthday dinner dates, for years to come.

Grantsville Graduation

Well I have been meaning to post this for over a week now, so I'm sorry if this is old news.

Shane and I attended Grantsville High School Graduation on June 2, 2009. The ceremony was suppose to be held outdoors but hours before graduation was to start it rained, so graduation had to be moved indoors to the gym. It was SUPER HOT!!!! The gym was filled way beyond fire code, and there was no place for us to sit. So Shane and I stood the whole time. Thanks to Shane for taking the pictures for me.

I have Tomatoes!!!!!

I just wanted to brag and let you all know that I have tomatoes from our garden. I had my first tomato the other day and I picked another one today, with more on the vine to pick in a few days. I am so excited. I love garden tomatoes and I have a hard time waiting until they come on. We got an early start this year, and was so excited to be able to plant it. I love garden tomatoes, and I know that this year will be the best year yet for tomatoes.
