Fishing, Friends and Fun!!!!!

This past weekend Shane and I made a trip to see my friend Debbie and her family in Richfield, Utah. The girls spent Saturday relaxing, catching up, and pampering ourselves (we painted our toenails, and I think that counts as pampering). The boys spent the day at Fish lake doing some Ice fishing. Shane got a new power auger and really wanted to try it out.
Shane said the fishing wasn't that great, but the boys all had a great time catching perch. The boys even came home all wet. Apparently they had to see how the fish reacted to the jigs and such.
I LOVE spending time with Deb, and we can seriously sit and talk for hours just about anything. I have to truly say that she has got to be my very best friend. We hadn't seen each other since Shane and I got married nearly 4 years ago. Debbie is one that you can sit down with and talk to like it hadn't been years since you last talked, we really can just pick up right where we left off. I love those kind of friendships, and I will cherish our relationship forever. I am so grateful for Debbie for the example she has been to me since we were kids. She is a great mother and leader, and takes both home and church jobs seriously.

Thanks you guys we had a blast!!!!! We are looking forward to many more hunting and fishing trips down south with you guys.

Here are a few pictures from our trip.

A pocket full of change

Shane always comes home from work or play with a pocket full of change. By the end of the week, he can have a good couple of bucks in change. He has been saving for quite sometime (I think its been almost a year), and this morning we decided to count it all. So needless to say we started counting and counting and counting and counting. Here is a picture of the finished product.

The total came out to be a whopping $93.44. I can't believe Shane had so much change in his popcorn tin/piggy bank holder. I had to laugh at him after we were done, because he ran into the bedroom to find more change in a drawer or two. It was really addicting, and we both were surprised to see what he actually had.
Shane and I both had such DIRTY hands from all the counting on the digital bank. It was such hard work.

Shane's dirty hands. YUCK!!!!!

My dirty hands. YUCK!!!!

Does this look like $93.44? It doesn't to me, but the jar tells me differently. It sure is heavy. Keep saving Honey!!!! Let see how much we can get next year. Now he wants to go get some games for the Wii. Anybody have any other great ideas how to spend it? Maybe we should put it away for a rainy day.

I'm ready for warmer weather!!!!

I am soooooooooo ready for warmer weather. This week has been yucky with all the inversion and fog, and to top it all off it is just so dang cold. I am ready to plan for a trip to a tropical climate, where I can actually wear shorts and flip flops, and lounge out by the pool all day long, and just take all the sun in that I can. Hawaii here I come. I think the next trip that we have planned is to go Ice Fishing.

Nan with a hunting license? AHHHHH?????

This past December, my nephew and I started taking our Hunter Safety courses, which we completed on January 10 with our shooting test. I do need to clarify to all of you I was not forced in any way shape or form, to do this class. I think Shane didn't think that I was going to do it either. Shane and I decided a while ago that we wanted to do this for Ryan (who turns 12 January 17th) and will need his own hunting and fishing licenses. So I took the class along with Ryan, it was really a good class and was very informative. Trust me I learned A LOT about gun safety. Ryan just absorbed it all, and was so excited to take the class. No worries he will be a very safe hunter.
I passed both test, and now I can hunt (what was I thinking?). I think Shane is so proud (you should have seen the smile on his face. It was like a mile long). Warning to all wildlife!!!! You better all run and hide, Nan is coming to get you (or not)!!!!! Ya'll better keep watching 2News Roughin It Outdoors for pictures. Ha ha ha!!!!!
Don't I look SEXY!!!! Gotta love the safety glasses!!!!!

Me shooting my targets. I am right-handed but shoot left-handed. Go figure!!!!
